Terms of use

Last updated October 31, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Video Village Creative, Inc. ("we"), the maker of FareTime. By using the FareTime app, website or web dashboard, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use FareTime.

1. What FareTime is

FareTime helps freelancers log their working time and work out what they're owed under the terms they set for each client, including overtime, double time, turnaround, day rates, per diem and kit, and turn that into invoices.

FareTime is still being built. Features marked "Coming soon" aren't available yet, and we don't promise a date for them. We may add, change or remove features as FareTime develops.

2. Check the numbers before you send them

FareTime applies the rates, thresholds and rules that you enter. It is a tool for your own records and invoices, not legal, tax, payroll or accounting advice. Any union or industry rule templates are starting points, not authoritative statements of any agreement. You are responsible for your agreements with clients and for checking every invoice before you send it.

3. Your account

You must be at least 16, and old enough to enter into this agreement where you live. Keep your sign-in details private and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

4. Your data is yours

You own the records you put into FareTime. You give us permission to store, sync, process and display them only to provide FareTime to you, as described in our privacy policy. You can delete them at any time.

5. Using FareTime fairly

Don't use FareTime for anything illegal, to store data you have no right to store, or in a way that harms the service or other people. Don't try to break into it, overload it, or copy, resell or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows.

6. Free app and subscriptions

The FareTime iPhone app is free to use. Subscriptions aren't on sale yet. Before they are, we'll add the price, billing, renewal, cancellation and refund details to these terms, and you'll see them before you subscribe. Subscriptions will be sold on faretime.app, not through the App Store. If a subscription ever ends, your records stay readable and exportable; only subscription features stop.

7. Other services

FareTime works with services run by other companies, such as Apple's App Store and, if you connect it, Intuit QuickBooks. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them.

8. Availability

We work to keep FareTime running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything critical, such as the invoices you send.

9. Ending

You can stop using FareTime and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where we reasonably can, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your records.

10. The legal limits

FareTime is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to FareTime is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if you paid nothing. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost earnings from an invoice error. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts for Seminole County, Florida, unless the law where you live says otherwise.

12. Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you before they take effect. Questions: Video Village Creative, Inc., Florida, USA · [email protected]
